Competing in the Michelin Pilot Challenge (MPC) program at the famed Daytona International Speedway, Ryan Eversley and Celso Neto pushed their Audi RS 3 LMS TCR finish third. Father Daughter duo of Ron and Megan Tomlinson crossed the finish line in seventh after the four-hour affair to put a pair of Precision Racing LA cars on inside the top ten.
After a practice session on Wednesday, and another on Thursday, the Precision Racing L.A. duo qualified fourth and 4th with the #7 entry of Eversley and Neto occupying row two and the #37 Audi of the Tomlinson’s in row seven. Through the ebb and flow of the race, driver changes, caution flags, and wheel-to-wheel racing, both team cars completed the full race distance, with great results in the first event of the season, and the teams return to IMSA competition.
“Fantastic debut for our Audi TCR program here at Daytona. So proud of Celso coming into his first TCR event, pretty much a rookie at this level,” explained Ryan Eversley. “He qualified in the top five and ran in the top three for his stint and never put a wheel wrong, giving the IMSA diversity program their first podium. Great start to the season, our championship is looking strong already, and my biggest thank you is not only to Mario Biundo, but the entire Precision Racing LA Team. We were the fastest Audi in every session and our team had the two highest finishing Audi’s at the end of the four-hour race. I am excited about Sebring.”
Neto added, “Really happy with the race today. The entire team executed everything super well, and the pit stops were on point. I just must give thanks to the entire team. It was a tough race as today was much hotter than the previous days. I needed to adjust to the track temperature and conditions throughout the race, as well as fuel load and the weight in the car. I did my first full stint, two-and-a-half hours in the car isn’t easy, but happy with the miles logged and all the stuff that I learned. I can’t say enough about this team. Thanks to Ryan and Precision Racing LA for all the help and support and excited about the rest of the year. What’s a better way than to start the season with a podium result.”
“I am really happy with the weekend,” added Ron Tomlinson. “I was impressed with how the team all came together for the first race weekend and how we performed. Especially proud of Megan and how she drove out there. Completing a two-and-a-half-hour stint in one shot is quite an amazing thing, and it is great to be here.”
Megan Tomlinson continued, “It was a great first race here in IMSA and with Precision racing LA. We started in P14 and worked our way up to seventh so that is a great effort by everyone involved and our first time here. Unfortunately, we did end up a little behind for passing under the yellow and having a little penalty, but we made it up and had a great race. Congratulations to our brother team car for their podium result. Awesome effort all around.”
Looking to carry their momentum to the second event of 2025, Precision Racing LA will now shift their focus to the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring weekend at the Sebring International Raceway in March.
