Mike LaMarra and Ryan Eversley while hoping for a faster qualifying lap in the Pirelli GT4 America on Saturday at the Circuit of the Americas they did land a P3 finish. The driving duo managed a lap of 2:17.319, which would slot them 12th in the Pro-Am class in their #07 Toyota Supra GT4 EVO.
As the three-hour event unfolded late in the day, LaMarra and Eversley seized the opportunity to showcase their talents and prowess. Completing an impressive 74 laps, the duo strategically advanced to finish third in class, gaining nine impressive positions, the second most of any driver combination on track. Their performance was a testament to their skill and determination, and both drivers were very excited with the results.
“Finishing on the podium in our 2nd race weekend with the Toyota Supra was fantastic! Shared Ryan. This is one of the more satisfying podiums of my career since I feel like I’m playing a much bigger role behind the scenes with this team and I’m not just a driver. First I have to thank Mario for always believing in me and giving me the opportunity to race but also grow into a new role in my career. I've been really enjoying it. Secondly I need to thank our amazing crew because this was a very hectic schedule with the added Enduro requiring tire changes amongst our TCX and GR Cup programs and everyone really stepped up and did a great job!”
Mike LaMarra continued, “Ryan and I had a good race yesterday, but it is a team effort, so we are really excited about all being able to work together in this three-hour endurance race. We executed our strategy, we executed on our pit stops, and we executed on track, which helped produce a great finish for us in our second race this year with a P3, and hopefully, we will be able to keep building on that.”
“I am exceptionally proud to have had a podium with Ryan Eversley and Mike LaMarra for only our second time racing” explained Mario Biundo. “The Toyota Supra GT4 is a weapon on the track, and it is nice to have a team that has become pretty used to doing endurance racing over the last six years and to be able to demonstrate success for the first time in this three-hour series. Great job, SRO.”
The Toyota GR Cup North America and the Pirelli GT4 America programs will return on track in eight weeks at the famed VIRginia International Raceway over the July 19 – 21 weekend.
